Any good wine bars?

No wine bars of any kind. But it's a friendly place. Lots of neighborhood bars (the old-fashioned kind), many with live music on certain nights. Try The Banshee, Cooper's Ship, Andy Gavin's, Martini Bar & Grille, Farley's, Heil's--one of them should suit your style.

Scranton people are friendly, but some are kind of clannish. There are many sections of the city, the hill section, West side, South Side, Green Ridge, and Bulls Head to name a few. Also West Park and Keyser Valley. I don't know of any wine bars, not liking wine myself. If you know some of the guys at the U. they might be able to tell you.
