Yep, you're exactly right. I've been playing WoW for 6 months now and I've come to realize that I need a better video card and a faster processor. But the previous answer was right, check the system requirements on the game and then make sure that your specs are even better than that. Before I upgraded to a better computer with a much better video card and a faster processor, the game was real blocky and laggy and slow. I can't imagine still playing the game like that. If you really like the game you are playing and you're gonna be playing for a while, the upgrades are WELL worth the money. If you know someone with better specs, try playing the game on their computer just to see the difference it'll make. It's crazy!

Yep, cpu speed is important. But also heavily important is ram amount and video card qualities. You should look at the specifications of the games you want to play and be sure that you have at least the minimum specs. With that, they game can be played, but not necessarily all that well. With the minimum specs, you would probably have to use the lower graphics settings in the game, for example, to permit smooth play.

With a notebook, the video solution is usually built onto the mainboard, and that will quite heavily affect gaming performance. It is possible that the video chip will process the data adequately, but I would think probably not.....

According to the game spec, here are the requirements:

Minimum System Requirements
System: Pentium III 800MHz or equivalent
RAM: 256 MB
Video Memory: 32 MB
Hard Drive Space: 2000 MB
Other: 16-bit Sound Card, Internet Connection, Keyboard and mouse

Recommended System Requirements
System: Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent
RAM: 512 MB
Video Memory: 64 MB
Hard Drive Space: 2000 MB
Other: 16-bit Sound Card, Internet Connection, Keyboard and mouse

It seems that your processing speed might be OK, but do you have a discrete video memory, and what is your RAM? These two are fairly significant to running the game smoothly.

You are correct that it is important. And you will do okay with that processor, but after a while, you're going to realize that you need something more. No one likes lag while playing. Another thing to note it the graphics card you have, this can severely affect game play or the likelihood to play at all. You should be okay, but I would start saving up for a gaming PC/laptop

It is going to depend on what you want to play specifically. Make sure you check the system requirements on the game itself and you need to at least meet if you can't exceed them.

Processor speed and RAM are important for games yes, but also your video card. If you have a lousy video card games are not going to work.

Just make sure you meet the system requirements and you will be fine.

Yes. A hot videocard would help more.
