Yes I do. I'll enjoy while I can, I'm pretty sure it's a gimmick, though honestly I wouldn't put money on it. It is feasible that we hit our peak, and found a nice even middle ground after all this time. Not a guarantee one way or the other. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Oh yeah, more then suspicious, I would bet that the day after election the price will rise and will continue to go up through Christmas. Heating oil is also included in this. The oil company's want to see repuglicans elected as they can get away with making record profits.

till now the 04 election, Prince Bandar of Saudi Arabia met with Bush and agreed to flood the industry with oil to assist with Bush's re-election. Bandar freely admitted this in an interview with Bob Woodward. to this point as Bush monkeying(no pun meant) with gas fees through his Saudi connections this time is every person's wager.

This is just an under the table campaign contribution from the oil companies to the Bush regime. Don't worry, they will get it all back after the elections, no matter who wins.

No. GOD! You freaking conspiracy theorists are a bunch of wackjobs. I'm so tired of hearing people concoct these explanations for the cost of gas.

Consumer Discretionary Income
Monthly Housing Starts
Energy Surplus
Core Price Index
Federal Reserve Short-Term Interest Rate
Possible Supply Impediments (ie International Conflict)

These are just a FEW of the major macroeconomical factors that impact that cost of crude oil, which directly translates to the cost of gas.

I've thought that there may have been a collective, unconscious desire among the oil gang to lower the prices, lest it become a campaign issue...

...but then they could just as easily buy Democrat pols like they did with the GOP.

No..,being a truck driver the fuel prices went up to over $3.00 in 98 when clinton was in office..,remember everyone screaming at him to dip into the reserves.I dont like Clinton but I knew he was not responsible for fuel prices..,it is Opec who is responsible and them alone.

Suspicious is hardly the word!! Manipulative, extortion, immoral, sinister, conspiratorial...Now those are the words I would use to describe the "event" of "finding" excess oil "all of the sudden."

Rat Bastards!!

Peace.

If they can drop the prices this low now then I think they can keep them this low all the time.
