How many cliches can you use in one coherent paragraph?

Many are called but few were chosen to complete this proverbial mission, but I will not anoint myself the king of cliches, as uneasy is the head that wears that crown. Having said that, it would be a feather in my cap to get a best answer, and a fate worse than death to not succeed. I do realize that the cliches I use are only a drop in the bucket compared to all of the cliches that abound like starfish in the sea. I would be living in a fool's paradise to declare myself the winner, because there is always a fly in the ointment lurking around the proverbial corner that render moot the best laid plans of mice and men. But nothing ventured, nothing gained, and it is better to have answered and lost than never to have answered at all.

It was a dark and stormy night, and I was full of beans and hell-bent for leather. Sure as death and taxes, I was headed for a fall, but fools rush in where angels fear to tread. I couldn't take the heat, so I put all my eggs in one basket and left the kitchen and ran like the wind. Too fast, I guess, because I dropped the eggs like a bad habit. No sense crying over spilt milk though, so I let bygones be bygones and looked on the bright side - you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs!

Waste not want not, because a rose by any other name just ain't the same, and if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you, because I'm just not whistling Dixie, so excuse me because a penny saved is a penny earned and I'm penny wise and pound foolish and now I'm going to bed so I can be healthily wealthy and wise, and the early bird catches the worm.
