I have been working in a new position for two months now.
I have been doing the same work I did when I first started.
I asked for additional task and have not been given any. The person before me said she had lots of work.
My manager said he would give me more work but hasnt.
Am I doing something wrong?
Why is are things like this ?
I am always on time, the task I do have I have done a great job with.
I mean whats the deal with this?

Does he think Im dumb?

who knows what your boss is thinking, you are still a new employe, just do the work you are assigned and wait for more work is requested ... focus on your job assignments and make them efficent and in a timely manner, and the boss will add more to you when they think it is time....

Maybe the person that had the job before you was just lazy. "lots of work" means different things to different people. Maybe you're so much more efficient than she was that your boss is afraid of loading you down with too much work. You may be doing projects/tasks in one day, but the same tasks may have taken the previous person 3 days! Keep doing your best, and hopefully you'll get some recognition!

Once you understand the real work, you can figure out what the next level of task is that you want to tackle. Do a little homework / studying on what skills you will need and ask for the task you want to take on.

if you are not given more responsibility when youk now you are capable of much more than what you do now, then you need to rethink your job. I suggest you find a place that appreciates your efforts and there is a clear progress path and rewards for hard work.
Your manager doesn't think you are dumb. He is just lazy and don't want to change the infrastructure of the department/company. Maybe he is threatned that if he gives you more responsibility, you'll progress so fast, you'll over take his job!!

Maybe it could be that he feels threatened because you are so efficient...instead of just asking for more work why don't you apply for a higher position - you are obviously capable of doing it. You seem like a fast learner. You might as well do something better and for sure you will have more work to do then : )

Two months in a position is not all that long. Maybe you have not proved to your manager that you have mastered what you are doing yet.
