Freema Agyeman will play the Doctor's new assistant, Martha Jones. She played Adeola in Episode 12 of series 2 (well, series 2 of the new run of Doctor Who) but as her character "sufferes a terrible fate at the hands of the cybermen" she will be back in series free as this new character, ie: Martha.

Her name is Freema Agyeman. The character is called Martha Jones.She actually appeared in last season's Dr. Who story "Army of Ghosts". She was one of the technicians at Torchwood who was upgraded by the Cybermen and killed.Don't know how they're going to get around that one! She's been on tv before, as a chambermaid in Crossroads.

It is Freema Agyeman, as others have said, however, I believe she isn't appearing in the Christmas special (or at least not much) - but Catherine Tate is.

martha jones, shes going to be played by freema agyeman
who also played in the 13th episode of the last series as one of the torchwood agents who died
but she won't be in the christmas special

The black girl who worked at Tourchwood in the very last episodes, the one who had implants put onto her ears. Dunno her name sorry.
She died though so not sure how they are going to do this exactly.
