I'm getting a cold and my nose whistles when I breathe. Has this ever happened to anyone?

it happened to me when i smacked my face in the door

I think this happens to everyone. It can be embarassing because with every breath a symphony is happening right there in your nose and other people can hear it! But - take heart - the noise you hear in your head - is much louder than the noise others can hear. If you use a nasal spray - it will help eliminate the whistling and help you to breathe easier. Antihistimines might help too! It can be worse at night when your head hits the pillow - when everything is quiet and when all the yucky congestion settles on the side of your head resting on the pillow. I used to breathe through my mouth when I was suffering from this condition - so my partner wouldn't think I was snoring! Hope your cold gets better soon!

Yeah, it happens to me all the time. Once in the middle of the night. It was so bad that my mom got up, because she thought my brother was crying. That was worse than usual though.
