We just poured 24" wide by 1' tall footings for our deck posts last night. Then we had an October frost last night and woke up to a small amount of snow on the ground that we were not expecting. We are supposed to have 40-50 F degree days coming up tomorrow and into next week. Do you think the footings will set up properly or are we in trouble?

The big thing you have to worry about is freezing temperatures. If the temperature will be below 32 degrees you will need to find a way to heat your footers. You should be out of trouble after 5 days, most concrete will have reached at least 70% of its strength by then.

If the snow cover was enough you could be okay.

I would ask your inspector though to be sure.

We had this happen when we built our log home. The contractor took forever and the day after the walls were poured it snowed.

We got something like six inches so it turned out okay for us.

best,

no. you don't have to worry.
Just make sure you don't put any weight on the footing until after
3 days. you can put plastic over them but I would just let em cure
for at least four days. a deck is not a house and does not carry that kind of load.

you'll be fine.

you're fine as long as the ground didn't freeze and the concrete wasn't poured above ground level

You'll be fine - don't worry about it. Concrete will set up in worse conditions
than that.

They may crack. If you redo it, add calcium chloride to pour in cold weather.
