As old as I am, and I really am, still a kid at heart, look at the old woman looking back at me in the mirror, wonder who she is, where is she going now

An adult is a mature person who has a great marriage with responsible kids and pays his mortgage on time and has no debt. Stress shouldn't be an issue since all the aboved mentioned are taken care with. The sex life is great getting at least twice a week instead of once a month or on a special occasion such as anniversary or birthdays. The adults should act like kids because they are "big kids". The adult shouldn't let his children talk back and/or disrespect the parents in any shape or form. I hope this gives you the proper definition. This may not happen to most adults but eventually for me it will happen hopefully soon. Ciao!!!

The dictionary defines it as follows:
1. having attained full size and strength; grown up; mature: an adult person, animal, or plant.
2. of, pertaining to, or befitting adults.
3. intended for adults; not suitable for children: adult entertainment.
4. a person who is fully grown or developed or of age.
5. a full-grown animal or plant.
6. a person who has attained the age of maturity as specified by law.

But you're right, I know some people who are 24 going on 44 and some 60-year-olds who have never grown up! Age is just a number my friend!

I say all of the above and I'm still trying to figure it out! Let me know when you find out. I will say this being an adult is totally over rated. If I had known it wasn't as cool as it seemed when I was a kid, I wouldn't have wanted to grow up so fast. I think its also a sense of maturity and responsibility that we have to have.

An adult is someone over the age of 21. You are confusing that with maturity.

A person who has attained the status of maturity and who is totally responsible for and handles their own actions, bills and responsibilities is considered an adult.

The point at which I realised I'd 'grown up' was when it dawned on me that my parents weren't always wrong and the stuff they said actually made a lot of sense. For someone who spent her teenage years rebelling against everything they said and stood for, that was a hell of a realisation!!!

I think that it's defined by the level of personal responsibility that you take in your life and how you handle life's everyday problems.
