Plz read it fully
In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most merciful
Asalam-0-alaikum [even if u r a non-Muslim]
1st of all i didn't understand ur question but however, however i understood i will answer u. Secondly, read my reply with much concentration & from the deepness of ur heart and think about it with the openess of ur mind & accept the think wich touch ur heart.
According 2 Muslims there is no difference b/w Bible & Quran but maybe u know that the present Bible is not in the right condition as it was reveal on Hazrat Isa [alaisalam] & the people had made changes according 2 their desires. Those desire which were prohibbited in the right Bible were against the people of that time So, they made changesin it.Therefore we can't say that which thing in the present Bible is right[which were the order of Allah] and the wrong things[ which the people had made according 2 their desires].Then i will like 2 say that, according 2 Quran we should not make any difference in all the books reveal on the all prophets of Allah. The Muslims also read Bible & other books as well as Quran. But they reject the things in the Bible & other books that make contrast b/w the verses of Quran.U know very well that there is a greta difference b/w saying of Allah & the saying of people & u can find it very easily during the recitation of Bible. For ur convenience i will give u an example, according 2 Quran if any enemy attacks ur country u should do Jihad [making sacrifice 4 Allah or 2 be martyred] against them. But u people said that those peoples who r doing jihad or protecting their country from the enemy r " terrorists".U ur self tell me that if any one attacks ur country will u not protect ur country by fighting against them.
u can't say any thing about Quran if u hav not read it, i assure u if u will read Quran u can find the answers of all questions u hav ask in one single sentence.Read Quran with english translation & explanation [ available on many websites ]. Note my id [alqaobl@yahoo.com] & tell me how had u find the Quran. If u hav any question about it u can ask from me freely. ALLAH HAFIZ [Wanasulli ala muhamadin wa aleyhi wa ashabihey wa azmain.

You didn't give any reason why you believe religious books should be outlawed. I am not religious myself, but what the other guy reads doesn't bother me in the least.
Yes, I know that there have been many wars and uncountable killings in the name of the various Gods. I also know that all the major religions have their "holy" books. What I can't say is does the book make fanatics, or would people be just as religiously fanatical if their "holy" books were never printed.

What could possibly be offensive to you or anyone else about people practicing their religions? This country was founded on Christian- yes Christian- values. Many people died and sacrificed for the right to practice their religion in this country. And now, there are people who say we should have no right to. That kind of thinking is not Constitutional, if you are in the US. Don't hold your breath. People are willing to die for what they believe in, and you are very misguided if you think that it would be an easy fight to outlaw religious books.

Stalin and Mao and Saddam outlawed public religions.
They did it to control Muslin fundamentalists. They outlawed all religions because if they only outlawed islam, alll the polite religeons would have said they were picking on the them and joined the cause

No. That goes against everything that this country was founded on. I personnally believe the Quran to be the single most violence causing book on earth, but muslims in America have the right to own it. These books in themselves are not wrong, it's when the wrong people read them the wrong way. Outlawing them is most certaintly not the right answer.

Why should any book be outlawed? Freedom of speech IS allowed...if a person is offended by the religious text of any sect, then don't pay attention to it.

On the basis of a guideline for humanity that can't be proved, yes.

On the basis of a guide to help communities deal with everyday issues in a peaceful manner, perhaps not.

But definitely nobody should get a religious book in their hands that does not have an advisory label saying: "Unproven statements. Read, and interpret at your own discretion."

That guarantees our freedom of speech without misleading anyone.

What an unbelievably stupid question.

Of course not. We have this thing called a "first amendment".

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

And it's been working pretty darn well these past 200+ years, despite the best efforts of the Bush administration to curb it.

Nah. Even as a non-religious person, I happen to find the Bible full of good, motivational stories. They have a positive, moral message and are a good read.
