Whats the difference between career goal and major?

A career goal is what you want to become or do to make money. A major is, hopefully, a subject matter in school that will help you obtain your career goal.

Career goal - "typical" majors
Doctor - pre-med/biology
Lawyer/politician - political science
Teacher - english/history

A career goal is what you eventually want to be. I want to be a RN that is my goal. My major is nursing. Hope that helps.
