We are traveling to Budapest on Oct 20 and we have conflicting advice on currency?

The currency in Hungary is Forint, you'll have to wait several years before the country adopts the euro.

Anyway, my advice is not to bring money, but just to withdraw it in an ATM!!!!!!

You can exchange your euros or dollars for forints when you arrive to in Hungary: the airport, the train stations and most main streets have places to exchange money, or banks.
1 USD= 211 HUF
1€ = 265 HUF
If you choose to take no money and use only ATM's, take more money in few times, because the fees are high.

Hi,,,, you can bring Euros but they will probably give you Forents back in change..
I still have a bunch left over from when i was going thru there,,,
