This is what's wrong with the world today: Too much symbolism. Who says that rain symbolizes a new beginning? Maybe it means that the character is sad, or bad things are coming. Maybe, and this is a big stretch, it just means that the screenwriter wanted to have a change of scenery, or the director wanted a different lighting effect. Snow means the temperature is below freezing in the upper atmosphere, thereby conveying that it is COLD where the film is taking place. Now, if you want to be pretentious and dig for symbolism, go read some Ayn Rand and get out of my hair.

In Korean dramas/movies, they always say that you should be with the one you love on the first time it snows for the year.
