It's a very old computer. Also there are so many pop up false error messages. When I type the letters don't appear for several seconds afterward. I told my boss but he doesn't care, (very low budget). We don't have an IT department to help or do any maintenance. Is there a way to crash it myself? I tried doing all the disk cleanup and other advice for speeding it up that I read on Yahoo answers but it didn't help.

Easy.....
Just point to "Start".
Select run from the menu.
In the box given, type "regedit"
Select the ok button.
Open the registry folders as if the are folders in any other menu.
Each folder contains entries that Windows uses to start up.
Change about a hundred of these settings to the name of your first car.
Save the new registry and reboot.
If the system boots repeat the process until it wont.

Maybe you should stop moaning at your boss, and instead make a business case for changing the machine for something more up to date. If it is more than 3 years old it is probably written off anyway, and will have no support warranties so when it does go pop, which it will, you will not be able to work at all. Make a list of all its annoying habits like slowness, and errors. Explain to him that for the investment of a few hundred pounds for a new fully supported modern machine, your productivity will spiral.

Funny you are asking this Question. I've a Toshiba Satellite Computer. I use it for editing the Wikipedia files and to edit the Zedo wikipedia listing created by Zedo itself that calls itself an ad serving company. I keep editing the listing to call it an adware. Somehow my computer has started crashing and I think it is the zedo Work. May be you should get together with Zedo and have it crash your computer. Really. LOL.

Open up the tower or platform or whatever it's got, pop out the sticks of ram (very easy to do) and torch them in a few spots, not a lot tho, just so it will damage them and not leave very bad marks. then put them back in, say ur computer just broke and you think its time for an upgrade cuz its been getting slower and slower every day!

On second thought... I do have this new program I made that deletes your registry and reboots your compter that needs to be tested... Care to give it a shot?

I have to agree with magnets, very effective and permanent. If your boss still gives you static, freeze some dog stuff. Then shave it into thin slices and put into his monitor vents (if he has a CRT). Once the dog stuff warms up a bit... well, should be pretty easy to figure out which office he sits in.

the last 4 pc's i was hired to replace, the users had continuously just turned off while it was in Windows because they were so frustrated. eventually it just messed it up so bad the machines wouldn't turn on anymore.
