A visit to your county courthouse will get you the information you seek. Almost all property deeds are registered in the USA and become a matter of public record. The office you need to visit will be called something like "Property Room" or "Deeds and Records" etc. The clerks may help you look up the information you need, but sometimes there is a fee for their help.

Good luck with your search for information.

If you just purchased the home, you will need to check with your local county office. It can sometimes take up to 2-3 months before it is recorded off the records at the county (sometimes even longer). If you had a Title Company of an Attorney close on your house, I would check with them to see if all the documents were sent to the county for recording yet after the closing. The County will need an original Warranty Deed to be able to do this. If you have the original signed and notarized Warranty Deed with you, you will have to take it to the county to record it. They will charge you a recording fee.

Your public library should have a reverse directory where you can look up the address and get the residents name. Your county recorder might have a website which will give you the owners name if you put in the address.
