I really don't think so.

Our political systemt is already unmanageable. We are expecting congressmen to represent hundreds of thousands of people, often millions. How is anyone supposed to get represented that way? (corporations are the new people, don't you know!)

And what about the ogalala aquifer that's dropping 1.5 feet every year, without which the entire midwest would turn into a desert? Or that the major population growth centers are piping in their water from over a thousand miles away?

And are these well educated geniuses that are immigrating here or having children? Some, but not the majority.

One thing you'll note about the happiest countries in the world, they only have a few million people and they are not overcrowded.

So, unless you are a business owner needing cheap labor or an emporor planning a big war, population growth in America is something to grumble about, not celebrate.

The most frustrating thing to me is not the immigration problem, which is bad, but that the religious people are having five or six kids thinking it's god's will, trying to increase the size of their churches and make this a more 'godly' nation. That ticks me off, it's very selfish, but they think it's a service.

Have you travelled the United States - most of it is a barren wasteland - we could easily fit 300 million more - in Texas alone!

The problem is that it seems that 299 million of these slobs want to live on top of my house.

More like crepe-hanging time.
There hasn't been enough wonderfulness to go around for some time and more bodies just changes the 'gnawing-away' at it into great gulps.

I strongly feel the same way. Instead of celebrating, we need to be realistic and deal with this.

I didn't know there was a celebration, when is it, or have I already missed it?
