Hi, I'm going to be a cat for halloween. I bought cat ears online at ebay (it comes with a bell/collar for around the neck).
I'm 20 years old. (just dressing up for fun)

What else should I add to the costume?
Here are some ideas:
fake nails- sharp
tail- what would I make it out of?
skirt & leggings, tank top/spagetti strap
wiskers painted on face- yes or no?

I'm dressing up as a cat also! (Notice my festive avatar?)
Some of my ideas so far....
-long nails(light pink or white)
-my ears came with a tail , but the tail is made fairly long. It's only fake fur material sewn in the shape of a tail with stuffing in it-I don't know how crafty you are or how much time you have if you want to make it...I'm sure you could buy one somewhere.
-along with black whiskers, i'm doing fake eyelashes and extending black eyeliner past my eyes for a cat eye effect. You can also get glitzy with it and add glitter eyeshadow of face jewels around the eyes. I'm doing a pink triangular nose on the tip of my nose.
-For dress: black mini, long sleeve tight fit shirt , black leggings, and black knee high boots....sex kitten!I'm wearing a black choker for a collar that I'll add some sort of bell or jem to

Have fun!

It all sounds awesome! Go for it! My logic for Halloween is; how many times a year do you get to dress up how ever you want and no one looks at you funny? It all about fun!

Now as for the tail, I am sure you can find a tail at any store that sells costumes. But, if you don’t want to do that, you can just drape some light weight black fabric of a wire that you can attach to a black belt. The wire can be bent into the shape of your tail, and then you can hot glue the fabric to the wire so it sticks in place.

As for the make-up…draw the whiskers! I would even go further! Line your eyes with eye liner, and give it the ‘cat-eye look’. The site bellow will give you an idea as to what I am talking about.

I would go for the nails too! I think that will look hot!!!!

I hope you have a blast! I am going to be a bunny rabbit…..I am so excited! (By the way, I am 19 and I love dressing up still too!)

you can buy a tail at a halloween store, or make one out of a leg from a black pair of pantyhose!
YES to the whiskers painted on!
nails are good too!!
just dress in all black and it sounds like you've already got it figured out!
you can also go to a local goodwill to look for good, cheap stuff too!

You can get a tail and fake nails at the dollar store real cheap. Then just draw on some whiskers and wear all black clothing. Skirt, leggings and top is good.

Yes on everything and I would sew the tail out of a stiff black material and stuff it with polyfill, or, go out and buy one, you can get them at any halloween store. Also, I would suggest black ballet slippers. You could also hot-glue the fake nails onto a pair of cheap, stretchy gloves so you don't have to worry about pulling them off afterwards.

Make the tail out of an old black shirt sleeve...You can paint the whiskers on but, not too thick..use liquid eyeliner

Why not? go ahead.
I used a costume once not taken very well.
I used a white sheet, splashed red paint over it and with a knotted string on the top and painted the words "Kotex" across it.
Didn't go over very well.

Walmart has some really cool fake eyelashes this year, I think those would look cool with your costume!
