What do you personally think of wearing a skirt over trousers, or a dress over trousers? Do you ever do it?

Hehe, I did it for ages before it was fashionsable. And still do it, but am not sure if I should keep doing it. I wear short skirts with jeans/trousers.

I've used to wear a purple knee length skirt over some black trousers a fair few years ago (before it became the thing to do) and I liked it, although I got a few funny looks. Now it is 'de rigeur' I probably wouldn't do it as I don't like to follow the crowd. I much prefer footless tights worn under denim skirts or cute dresses, that's a great look.

Speaking from a male perspective I don't understand it. It makes me wonder if the people dressed like that either suffer from the cold or hate exposing any flesh at all or have absolutely no dress sense. Much the same as guys wearing T shirts over long sleeve shirts. There is no style to it.

It seems redundant to me. Pants or trousers -- which I would never wear under any circumstances -- ruin the feminine appearance of a skirt or dress.

in my opinion skirts over trousers are a massive NO - tacky in the extreme. dress over trousers on the other hand can look really good - espec wraparounds. make sure evrythings in proportion tho, you don't want to look like an oompa loompa.

I've done it, it can be cute if done right. wear plain colored trousers, and I would go with a dress, not a skirt, that has a small pattern, nothing too loud or flashy.

I dont tink it looks nice with jeans or trousers . Only with them footless tights or leggins. Wearing them with trousers is so 1995

i remember that this was the fashion a few years ago and I wore it then I think dresses like military ones look nice over jeans or something but not too keen on the other styles.

I think so long as you choose the items carefully it can look really good. I sometimes wear a dress over my jeans and it looks good and I always get compliments.

I think short skirts do look cool over jeans however if your going for the layers look, shorts and tights will make you look gorgeous!!!!

I think wearing a pretty wraprounddress over jeans looks gd, altho i think you have to be the right shape for certain ones, or tall enough :)
