Seems to me, most deadly airplane crashes are small planes...piloted or carrying celebs.

And no, before I get accusations, I'm not trying to be nasty here. Just wondering!

@ C.Thomas incorrect. DJ A.M. died of drug overdose. even nonetheless, DJ AM and Travis Barker WEa195b7c9fc241f3da05997176f898dE in a substantial airplane crashed, yet the two survived. RIP'm a huge DJ A.M. fan. [a195b7c9fc241f3da05997176f898da195b7c9fc241f3da05997176f898da195b7c9fc241f3da05997176f898d] -- RIP do no longer understand fairly any celebs that have died a195b7c9fc241f3da05997176f898dN an airplane crash, yet supposively Billy Mays have been given a concussion in one, and died after, yet no longer in a crash or something..

Celebs have died in small plane crashes surprisingly routinely. To try and make a list would take concentration I do not have at this moment. We all know the recent ones, JFK Jr., John Denver and just yesterday, a NY Yankees pitcher. In years past, small planes were small DC-6's as compared to the big jets of today. Clark Gable's wife, Carole Lombard, a huge star of films, one of the most gifted comediennes of the day, died in such a plane on a routine flight. During the WWII a few stars died when Germans shot down their passenger planes. As to the "small" planes, celebrities live large and have big egos (which many of them have earned) and I think they get too comfortable and too self assurred with an aircraft in a situation they do not have complete control over. In years past (1930's - 1950's) a handful of celebrities died because they insisted someone fly them out of a location to another in inclement weather. Again, ego working. The horn rimmed rocker, whose name I cannot recall, and who apparently refined early rock and roll, died along with a famous DJ and latino singer when they insisted on getting to a theater date in very bad weather. It is like a child or teenager - they cannot conceive of dying at such an early age and so they take chances. Celebrities are at risk because they are told day in and day out how great they are and that lends itself to a feeling of being indestructable.

I want to say it because they are famous, they think they are invincible, but that is not the case for all of them. But I think that it is the famous people that we really hear about, or maybe just acknowledge, Payne Stewart, JFK, Jr., sister and wife, etc.. If the person in the plane was not famous, the chances of the world hearing about it are slim, I guess.

FYI Stevie Ray Vaughn was a helicopter. Trust me, Alpine does not have a runway for an airplane.
