is it just my city or dose petco look run down compared to a petsmart.
and have less care taken of it

I prefer to shop at Petsmart. The Petco I go to is horrible. I once had to tell the manager that there was a dead hamster in their cage. She looked at it and said "no its just sleeping", then she put her hand in the cage to wake it up and got this stupid look on her face and said "ya I guess it is dead". That was the manager. The fish department has ick in both fresh and salt water tanks. Unfortunately, Petco is the only place in the city that sells a particular bunny litter that I use so I have no choice but to buy that there. I have asked Petsmart if they would special order the litter for me but they will not.

The petco around here looks run down too but its also around 15 years (could be more) older then the petsmart, which is only a few years old. I like petsmart better though cause the prices are way cheaper then petco.
Oh yeah and petsmart matches their online prices. Just bring in the print out of something and they will always match it, no questions asked. I have heard that some petcos do that too but you had to go to the manager.

We have both in Arizona. They are both like new, but I like the prices better at PetSmart. Seems like they have a little bit of a wider variety of stuff and more sales than Petco. My vote is for Petsmart!

I go to Petsmart.
I'm with you on that one. Petco looks sad compared to Petsmart.

I like petsmart too. But where I live there is only Petco - I hate it.

I live in the Quad Cities also, I go to PetSmart just off of 53rd. I like it there, very clean!

I have a petco were I live in Tn.it does look rundown but they are friendlier there then petsmart

I heard that this guy took his dog to Petsmart and took out insurance for the vet there because the dog started acting strange.Petsmart deliberatly gave the guy the wrong xrays because Petsmart didn`t want to pay for it.And the next day the guy`s dog died.Turns out Petsmart didn`t tell him the dog had cancer.Poor thing.

Petsmart! They have a great variety of products and they are not too expensive.
