You may need to know some day. Besides, its fun!!! Its fun to swim in the waves at the ocean, its fun to swim in a pool or a river or a stream or a lake, its great exercise too. A lot of people like to go to a river or lake or to the beach for a date in the summertime and its great to be able to swim with your date. When you start to learn to swim, remember that you are lighter than the water you are in, so you will float naturally, you have no reason to ever panic, so stay loose and don't tighten up your muscles. Its fun, I hope you get to enjoy it!

Being able to swim is a skill that can benefit you your whole life. I can't think of any other forms of excercise that benefit your body as much with such low impact. It strengthens your arms, your legs, your heart, and your lungs.
Plus there's the safety factor. If you were to accidentally end up in some water (swimming pool, lake, river, etc.) you could swim to save your life.

It is easier to learn when you are young. Follow this scenario: You are ten years older and have a three year old child. You are walking alongside a river and the child falls in. If you cannot swim what do you do. If you can, it is obvious what you will do. You can play around with this scenario with different people involved but the answer will come out in favour of learning to swim at a young age. Please God it never happens, but if it does BE prepared...............

Swimming is fun, great exercise, a way to beat the heat, and good social time. Plus, if you're ever thrown from a boat, you won't drown.

it might be useful, in Holland almost everybody learns how to swim, cause we have a lot of water in our country. In our country it includes your education. Other people just want to improve their swimming squilts, cause they can go faster etc

swimming is like working. once you run, you ought to respire with the intention to maintain your lungs and heart pumping. when you consider that swimming includes water, you ought to voluntarily help your lungs breathe. a synchronized inhale and exhale will regulate the bypass of air in the water, as you do your strokes. in case you do not breathe precise or do not do a synchronized respiratory in water, water could enter your lungs, or loss of air provides you with a panic attack. we don't prefer you to drown in a contest.

part of water safety... you don't know when you might have to swim to save your own life.
Plus swimming is a great way to exercise your whole body and a low-impact sport... a great way to meet new friends too.
