I do not believe that any state has the right to legislate whether or not you can live with someone not married to you if you are a single parent. That would be unconstitutional. To make living together illegal would by extension violate your right to freedom of religion, among many things, because marriage is sanctified by God, according to most faiths and faith and religion cannot be legally sanctioned or condemned by rule of law.

However, if your concern is an ex husband who might use living together as a way to take custody of your kids, I would caution you to seek out legal services before he moves in so that you can head off any problems with your ex.

Legal is one thing, Good idea is another. If you want to move him in get married. That is of course unless you want to teach your children that it is okay to shack up and disrespect the need for marriage.
When the time comes for you to explain the growing up, falling in love and getting married thing they will ask, "What about you?"
If you can answer that its okay for you to act married without the marriage certificate then be prepared for that teenage pregnancy.

I have no clue about their father but I would recover custody of my children if their mother was living in sin.

Oh yea, give your kids the perfect example of how relationships work hunny, have a live in screw, that will set a great example for the kiddies. You'll be a granmother when your oldest kid is 15.

Do whats best for you, YOU hunny, isnt that what you want, I mean the kids where just accidents anyway, they werent supposed to happen, after all they just kind of get in your way don't they. Do whats best for only you! Don't ever consider whats best for the kiddies, because you deserve to have what you want anyway, right?

Once you are divorced you can live with or marry whoever you desire. But when it comes to child support payment and specially alimony your ex husband may petition court for reduced payment due to change in circumstances, Consult with Michigan lawyer.

Of course it is. Even if he wasn't your fiancee it would still be legal. You could have a lesbian lover and it would still be legal. We're not living in a fascist police state yet. Closer than ever before, but not quite yet...

Unless it's specifically prohibited in your divorce decree, I'd say no.....but why would you want to? Wouldn't it be better for your kids (not to mention yourself, your hubby-to-be, and your upcoming marriage) to wait until you guys actually get married?

Sigh. Someone gave me a thumbs-down. I think OkieBoy is right on!!!
