Well if you are very curious you can take the first response the day you miss your period 99% accurate and you can take it two days before your missed period it says that's what I have don't with both of mine, this pregnancy I took it the day after I didn't start, and it was positive but it is more reliable if you pee in a sterile cup and dip the tip in instead of peeing on it cause if you pee on it too much or too little it might say different, if you pee on it too much or splash the screen it will have a faint double line saying you are pregnant when you might not be. Good Luck

Here is what i know, because i was in the same boat last month. Every medical website i saw and all the test say the same thing. After you missed your period. However, I did read at a website that the HcG hormone (the one that tells you your execting) could be dectected as late as 2-3 weeks later. If you know you are late, i would take a home pregnacy test, or go to your doctor and see. Or if in your town there is a Planned Parenthood center (or something similar to this) try there and they should give you a free test.

Running out to take a test isnt a gurantee. Most Doctors advise that you wait anywhere from 7-14 days. Since there are other factors that can cause a normally regular woman to miss a cycle.

Blood test are more accurate than urine as they count the amount of the pregnancy hormone as opposed to the urine that attempts to register if it is in the system. Woman have had a false positive while stressing about whether they are pregnant or not.

It is always best to go to your Doctor.

A blood test taken at a clinic can detect a pregnancy even before you miss a period. As far as the "Do it yourself" kits that you use with urine at home, most suggest waiting until you have actually missed your period or it is late.

Wait about 10 - 14 days then you will be able to tell for sure. But to be sure you have to see a doctor cause the tests are not always right. If it turns up negative take another test two weeks later and if it is still negative you have nothing to worry about but if it's positive go to a doctor ASAP.

Sincerely yours,
Laurie

If you're usually regular - you can take some tests upto 4 days B4 you are due. But, a few days after you are due will probably give a more accurate result.
