Go to http://www.volition.com/mystery.html and there's a huge list of REAL mystery shopping companies. The rule of thumb I've found is NEVER pay a company to be a mystery shopper. The ones that ask for money are either scams or just aren't worth the money you'd pay them...
below are some of my favorite companies' links. ... Good luck

I tried to be a demo person. I love chatting with people. I found the ad in the paper. But despite my questions about what all to bring to the store, I showed up not having everything. It was a disaster and I turned around and went home. Beware of a company called Demo Deluxe.
A friend of mine in college was a mystery shopper. She made some good money, I just can't remember how she got the job.

www.mysteryshopper.com is a free site that lists available shops in the whole country (and parts of Canada).
I do not get a commission for referring anyone, so I suggest it only beause it is legit. and free, two things I wanted. Also there is a mystery shopping service called amusement adventure (I have lost the link sadly) but it too is free, and they let you mystery shop amusement parks, party services, zoos, etc.
Hope you can find a few easy and good paying shops.
Demo'ing at a store is fun, my mom did that as I was growing up, but I don't know where you would start looking. If you have warehouse type stores (like sam's club or costco) you may see if they hire directly. Good Luck

Do your self a super want & verify in spite of company you opt for with the greater desirable company Bureau. you will discover that maximum of them have multiple proceedings against them. no longer very well worth the time, attempt, or the money.
