can we choose an English goalie from the "big four" premiership teams? no. wont be long before we are picking the England team from the coca cola league. i totally agree, there are to many foreigners in the premiership. also, how many top English players are playing in the Italian,Spanish, french,German, dutch league? so we cant even pick the England team from other countries leagues, like Brazil do. Regarding your last paragraph...If the other "George Best" was good enough, then he would be playing at the top flight!
If there are so many good English players out there who will never have a chance because of all these foreigners, then they must not be good enough! Why do you think the premier league has these foreign players? Because they are good!
It's competition. The best guys are going to play in the best league. The best teams are going to have the best guys. That's how things have been the last who knows how long. That's how our world is today.
I can sympathize with a lot of you that it would be nice to have more English guys playing in the top league, but really, what can we do about it? There are no rules against it. There is really not a lot we can do unless we are one of those guys who are playing in like Football League one, then we could improve our own skills and get transferred to a bigger club.
So, there is nothing more we can do but enjoy what we already have with the English players that we have playing.

There should be a minimum of six English players in all English Premiership 1st teams.
There too many foreign players in the English Premiership 1st teams at the moment - even though most are very good players.
The English National team is suffering because of this influx and a lot of English Premiership club managers/chairman are to blame for this.
I`ll bet there are some brilliant players in the lower leagues and non-league clubs. But, unforunately, these days the fans are also to blame as they want instant success for their club.
But it should be introduced by the FA, that each English Premiership team must have a minimum of six English players in the first team.
