Every year we do something special. We used to make "craft" things but now my daughter is older so we started doing food. Last year we made homemade truufle and choc. pretzels. Year before fudge. I do not want to make any cookies! Not a cookie maker :) Any suggestions?
Thanks

Some cool cupcakes in holiday colors, Martha Stewart style, but easier.
You can make snowman toppers with some drink stirrers, large marshmallows, and some gummy candies. Just buy some seasonal candies and get creative with the stuff. Good Luck!

Ginger bread house. If you don't want to actually bake, you can purchase the entire set (pre-made ginger bread house) and all at the grocery store.
My mom, sister and I did that years ago, and my mom still has it to this day. She found a plastic box to keep in it, and at the end of the holiday season she packs it in the box very carefully to keep it safe for next yr. It must have been 12-15 yrs ago, and still have not seen one spot of mold on it. It doesn't look as good as it once did, and has lost some of the candy decor over the years, but its still a kick to see every year and brings back some great memories.
Also-a cooking school in your area may be doing some type of holiday cooking class. That may be fun for you and daughter to take part in together.
Have fun and Happy Holidays!

I jusr read a recipie for chocolate chip caramel brownies that I plan on trying. Buy a boxed brownie mix and a bag of hersheys caramels and Tollhouse semi sweet morsels. You fix the brownie mix, then pour batter halfway into pans. you let the first layer cook for 12 minutes, then take it out of the oven. You sink the caramels into the layer, and a layer of chocolate chips and walnuts if you like, then pour the rest of the brownie mixture over that layer and cook for the rest of the duration of time. You can take them out when you inser a toothpick and have moist crumbs but not gooey-ness. they are sure to be a hit! Good luck

BAKLAVAH
(im sure i didnt spell it right)
but my mom makes it..its very time consuming..so it would be fun to make as a family!

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound frozen phyllo sheets
1 cup melted butter
2 cups finely chopped walnuts or blanched almonds
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup honey
1 cup water
1 tablespoon lemon juice
PREPARATION:
Directions for baklava
Thaw phyllo pastry and separate sheets according to package directions. Keep pastry not being used covered with clean damp dish towel to keep it from drying out. Place half of pastry sheets in a greased 15x10x1-inch baking pan, one by one, brushing each sheet quickly and all over with melted butter. Combine nuts, 1/2 cup sugar, and cinnamon; sprinkle over buttered pastry. Place remaining sheets on top, brushing each with melted butter. Cut baklava pastry into 2-inch diamonds. Bake at 400° until brown and crisp, about 30 to 35 minutes. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, combine remaining 3/4 cup sugar, honey, 1 cup water, and lemon juice; bring to a boil. Boil baklava syrup for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until syrupy. Cool and pour over baklava
