Hmmm....I guess repetitiveness isn't boring if it is repeated with extra information or a reward/benefit, or if used as a gentle reminder.

Like this over the microphone:"I REPEAT! PLEASE DONT BE LATE FOR THE BUFFET OR ELSE YOU LOSE YOUR DELICIOUS ALASKAN CRABS!"

Or...if you repeat it like this with a benefit,
"Did I say that the tour includes free sandwiches?"

I think repetitiveness is boring if it is in reality a nag! :)

For a creature of habit, a person who likes control, repetitiveness can mean order, security, safety, comfort. Certain things you never tire of. Something I enjoy, I could take again & again & again! Also, I like to have some routine in my life. It doesn't become boring because it's so habitual that I scarcely notice I'm doing it. (Like feeding the cats & locking the door before I leave for work...)

Many activities in our lives are repetitive but are not boring, but with a clause added......... the repititiveness is not continous and at one stretch! The economists call it in some way called "Law of diminishing return". What they are saying is that your fourth cup of coffee is not as tasty as the first, as you keep on pouring coffee. ( repetitive , shall we say?)

But you crave for the coffee again , don`t you?

Music is another fine example. any amount of repetitiveness does not bore us.

I'd venture to saythat, sooner or later, repetitiveness ALWAYS becomes boring, no matter how much a person might enjoy the action he/she is doing.
By the way, don't you love the way the word is spelled?:

r E p E t I t I v E

I always find repetition boring, especially when you're reading something. It's easy to lose track of what sentence you're reading, especially if you have a low attention span.

Of course, when it comes to things like academics and work, you can hardly avoid it.

when the action itself requires repetition in order to achieve maximum satisfaction, such as reading a good novel. repetition can help you discover new things about a novel if you read it several times in a long span of time.

When you enjoy what you are doing, or it leads to better things i.e. putting the lids on toothpaste is repetitive but gives you pay which you can spend on food and entertainment.
