Oooooh this is a good question! Music is a very personal choice and no two people's tastes are quite the same (rather like a fingerprint). Having said that I did notice that there seemed to be a few artists who've appeared in this list several times.

I was a bit disheartened to see Nickelback appear twice as I am a huge fan (hence my username) but then I suppose I can't dictate what other people will like.

My personal list of hated artists/bands includes 50 cent, Kanye West (in fact anything hip hop or "RnB"), Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson and Coldplay. I really, really loathe Coldplay. Surely they must be a contender for the title of worst band of all time?

The absolute worst thing that ever happened to music in the history of mankind is all forms of hairmetal from the 80s. It doesnt matter which band you choose, theyre all inherently evil and horrible. Its all just so completely generic and carbon copied. Everytime I hear a song by a hairmetal band I just want to shoot myself.

this is a difficult question to answer and deserves a better answer than i have time to give right now. my initial thought was chris de burgh. he is certainly a very naff artist but then i cannot dismiss all that he has done as some of his 70s / early 80's stuff was not too bad. my thoughts then turn to stereophonics, controversial, i know but they stink in my view, massively overrated. but no, it will always be one of those female artists that contribute nothing to the art of music, someone from whitney houston / celine dion / mariah carey. there is one of those divas very popular in germany called sarah connor, she is the worst. absolutely dreadful material.
