My house is infested with little knats. In every room. all 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, utility room, kitchen, living room, even the closets. Every room you walk in, you can see little knats flying. I have tried vinegar, bleach. I have cleaned out closets, rewashed every dish in the house, dusted every inch. My house smells of vinegar and bleach, yet they are still here. Why are they here and how can I get rid of them?? There is no spoiled food in the house, no fruit sitting around, no dirty dishes........what are they attracted to???? HELP please.......

Have you cleaned your drains? Pour several cap fulls of Pine Sol down each drain. Often the trap is a breeding place.

Good chance the gnats are from outside. Did you have a rainy season? Gnats may be coming from the ground, such as thatch in the lawn. Check all your screens for wholes, leaks around the sides, etc. Come frost they will disappear.

I'm assuming you don't have house plants. Fungus gnats can breed in the soil of houseplants. One solution is to take dish washing solution, diluted like you are doing dishes, and pour it through the soil. Let it sit a few minutes, then water it through.

I just had this problem two weeks ago in my kitchen and bathroom. I did the vinegar also, but I mixed it with dish soap and covered it with saran wrap. I poked holes in the top of the saran wrap so they could climb in but couldn't get out. That worked really well. I also bought this fly stick (I think it was called Pic Stick?) at Wal-mart. It was a round paper tube covered in glue and had a tray at the bottom where you pour something sweet in it, so the gnats would be attracted to it. I put chocolate syrup. The stick and the soap/vinegar mixture worked wonders. There are no more gnats.

Like the response above, it sounds like they are coming from the drains in your house.

Do you have houseplants? Re-pot all your plants with brand-new soil and make sure you spray the root system with a small insect killer (find at any home store). The packaging will tell you which are safe for this application. The knats breed in the soil of your houseplants, and merely treating the old soil will not help.

it somewhat is the element approximately residences and gnats. you somewhat share the construction with each and each individual in case you have vents, domicile windows, and so on. Throw each and every thing right into a tying bag. sparkling sponges with the heady scent of orange or lemon are adequate to maintain them fed. demanding, i understand. only sparkling like a mAD female a minimum of three X/ day and function your boyfriend do the comparable. Peace
