Because those of us in the West, especially in the USA, have true freedom and anytime a person or a people become acquainted with that kind of freedom, they want it and they realize that they were being oppressed. It's what the radical Eastern religions fear the most, that their people will leave their way of oppressed and slave like lives and cleave to the freedom that the West has to offer. In the West, they can still practice their religion, but they can speak freely about it and about the government. They are free to work hard, to educate themselves, to raise their kids they way they want without the fear that some government police force will come in and take them away for just living. True freedom is what oppressors fear the most, and with their small intellect, they elect to try to destroy that freedom for everyone, than to have "their" people embrace it.

Freedom is a cultural matter too. It does not come in a box, but what has been accepted by those people as being what they choose. I live in China...Mainland China...and I enjoy the same freedoms as you do, we don't have the right to bear arms...the same as Japan and many other civilized countries. Freedom of the Press....hahaha!!!...between hype and yellow journalism, I think you aren't getting much truth. What other freedoms can you mention...religion...but you would curtail the Muslim faith....Life, Liberty and pursuit of Happiness....I have that here.
The cause for the hatred and general animosity is long standing as we supported corrupt leadership because we were able to woo those men to our way of thinking and tap into their oil...if you are abused for many years, you might get a little hostile. The same applies to North Korea, the stance of Japan and China's reluctance to apply sanctions. The problem of North Korea is more than 50 years old...back to the days of Stalin and we did nothing to mitigate the problem. You have to consider their perspectives, and not the supposed superiority of America.

When you live under a dictators oppressive leadership like Islam, freedom and happiness is not something they will ever enjoy. They hate us because we have freedom, they hate us because we are happy, they hate us because we enjoy, and above all they hate us because we value human life. God has given all of us in the western world these freedoms because we value humanity, something the Islamic world does not respect in my opinion.

Because no dictator can tolerate freedom. Once people taste freedom they want more this is very scary to a dictator.

well,considering how they feel about women, if they looked at any movies they would be offended,listened to our music they would be offended,looked at any mag-offended, listened to any of our school curriculum-offended,abortion-offended, atheism-offended,Christianity-offended,sports-offended,and on and on, this is why we have to fight, so what's wrong with the liberals they act like they don't care about losing.
