Usually the state you live in has guidelines, I beleive they are all alittle different. When I was laid off I had to supply informationt hat I was and then every week I got 220 dollars for a maximum of like 12 weeks but I found a job before I got that for. Every week I had to visit the job search place as well to be able to get the check. Check with your state unemployment agency and they should be able to tell you what you can do. I was in MO at the time for that.

Go down to the state unemployment office with the name of your last employer and dates of employment. They will also ask why you are no longer with them. If you were laid off & have met the minimum work weeks & $$ earned they will process you there. If you quit or were fired there will be complications.
