No, not with the system of calendars that we use (in which this year is 2006 AD). There are fourteen different calendars (NOT four) that we cyclically use in this system -- and every one of them has at least one Friday 13th.

To correct another answerer, 1665 had three Friday 13's: in Feb, March and November. The '1665' he referred to is not a normal calendar. Every month begins on Thurs 1st and every 'year' is exactly the same. It's a bug in a system and not valid here...

Strangely, there is evidence to suggest that Friday the 13th is actually unlucky. Psychologists have found that some people are especially likely to have accidents or fall ill on Friday the 13th
hope this helps :)

The fact is that there must be at least 1 Friday the 13th
but no more than 3 in any given year. Why?
First, if the 13th day of the month is on Friday, the
first must be on Sunday.
Now we can divide the calendar years into 14 different
types, depending on which day of the week Jan. 1
falls on. This gives 7 ordinary years and 7 leap years.
Now take a given calendar for a given type of year
and find out how many months have their first
day on Sunday. You will find that there must
be at least 1 such month but no more than 3.

I actually went to a conference that answered a question very similar to this.

The answer is: no. There WILL ALWAYS be a year with at least 1 Friday the 13th, but there will never be more than 4 Friday the 13ths.
