no longer a dumb question, in case you could understand you ask, common as that. make useful the engine's heat, yet enable 5-10 minutes after switching off to allow the sump point to settle. make useful the motor vehicle's fairly point too. Whip the dipstick out, wipe it and placed it returned in, then pull it out to verify the point. The oil filler cap is sturdy on acceptable of the engine, i've got faith that's yellow on yours. put in consistent with probability a cupful at a time and allow it to trickle right down to the backside of the engine in the previous rechecking. it rather is superb to do it somewhat at a time rather than tip plenty in and locate you have overfilled - that may not do your engine any sturdy. Halfords do a semi sythetic 10w-30 that meats the required Ford specification. That's what I put in my wifes X reg 1.8 Focus which has the same engine as you Mondeo.
