Why do people have such a hard time understanding that Radical Islam wants to kill the West?

I'm glad you said Radical Islam, because unlike what some believe, all Islamic don't want to kill the West. The reason why some people have a hard time digesting the notion is because Radical Islam actually have a rational to why they want to kill the West and people in the west haven't yet understood that their behavior would excite such rage in a group of people who actually put serious thought and planning into their attempts to kill the West.

So the question is "what is the West doing that would make these people want to kill us"!

The answer is simple through out history the Europe and now the U.S. has been enslaving and colonial-ize Africa, the Americas, and some of Asia, have been having a powerful influence over other counties through trade of goods and military, and have been manipulating other countries through propaganda and deceptive information while they attempt to gain or maintain economic and military dominance. These actions cause others to perceive the West as trying to rule the world and force others to follow their religious belief and political practice.

In sum, if this was the movie Star Wars, we'd be the Empire and they would be the Rebels. Right now Radical Islam think Osma-Bin-Ladin is being a Luke Skywalker or more like Princesses Leia if she was a boy!

Now when you talk about the way they practice, plenty of Christians killed their own children in the name of Christ. In fact Slavery in America was a Christian phenomenon. Christian and Jews too, stone people, had witch hunts. In fact don't most people who are part of the KKK declare themselves as true Christians? Even in this day in age we have a death penalty where a priest blesses the one about to die by his Christian brothers. I guess there is honor in that. Do you for get about the Christian crusade where anyone not claiming to be a Christian was slaughtered. How do you think Christianity was spread in Africa? People weren't accepting of it until the found that if they didn't accept it they may die from starvation or just be hung. My point is the same things Radial Muslims are doing are the exact same things that Fanatical Christians are doing. I'm not just talking about years ago. I mean even today. One thing Christian’s ands Muslims believe in is if I do what's right and die, I'll go to Heaven. The problem is that some people feel what's right is based on what their good book says instead of getting a universal consensus.

I think most would agree that Radical Islam would like to destroy the west but so did the Soviet Union and instead of getting radical ourselves we contained them (especially with some great intelligence work) and we won the Cold war. The question is how do you decrease the amount of new recruits to radical Islam because that will kill radical Islam. We could start by destroying the Muslim Brotherhood based in Egypt and Wahhabi's in Saudi Arabia. They are like the Oxford and Cambridge of Radical Islam and Terror (Bin Laden was a graduate) and Bush hasn't done a thing about them.

You kill the Muslim Brotherhood and the Wahhabi's there won't be any more radical Sunni Muslims like the ones that caused 9/11. 3 of our biggest allies in the Middle East: Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan openly shelter the largest Radical Muslim groups in the world and US has done nothing to stop them.

If our own gov't. that is constantly telling us that they will destroy Radical Islam and protect the American people at any cost isn't even going after the main centers of Radical Islam don't you think they are having a hard time understanding that Radical Islam wants to kill the west?

It is only radical Islam and it is a small percentage of Islam people around the world. For the record, in all of history, Christianity is the most violent religion of all time. The west, or more correctly, the US, has put their noses into things that they had no business with for years, now it's coming back to bite them in the ***. I think Americans lack the intelligence to understand the Islamic religion and are completely ignorant when discussing it. No, I am not Islamic, I am far from it, but I do respect others beliefs and will not sterotype them based on a small number of people.

Not just radical Islam, ALL Islam... it is a convert or die mentality that the religion is based upon. The US cannot understand the Mid eastern mind set, as it is alien to our way of thinking. GREAT question, and the only answer I can think of is some have been the LIES by LIBERALS that it is due to other causes. Most libs hate Bush so much, they don't care at all if they lose their freedom and lives of their loved ones in the process. That is a harsh thing to say, but I honestly believe it.
