Most guitar teachers are right handed and find it surprising when I tell them that I am a left handed. I am interested to learn and play the electric guitar...any suggestions?

Pub Buddy knows the feeling...when I first started playing my teacher was a righty...So I always did the opposite of what he showed me....the best advise is (1) like the other dude said find a guitar that fits left most shops carry them now (2) string it up based on how comfortable you feel....Lefties break the rules so it's based on feel.....Sometimes will will have to learn certin tunes on your own...most teachers with show them based on righty rules......Go for it Baby!!

It won't be too difficult for you. There are guitars made now for left-handed people. I'm sure you can find a teacher who is left-handed as well. Just follow some Hendrix or McCartney...after all, they were left handed.

Ther is no difference in learning, just equipment purchasing. you'll be limited in the styles of guitars you can buy.
