I was just playing a game like I usually do and scratch my head and thought of this question. What other species can be classified into a race other than humans?

First of all, it's a good question. The people mocking the question perhaps don't see its validity. Anyway, the term 'race' is a social construct. It is prejudiced because it does not have any specific definition. Mostly, it's based on skin colour. For eg., what would differ in a Caucacian and an African? Skin colour, hair type and colour, lip and nose size etc. Now think. Will a caucacian with short curly hair, large nose and big lower lip be called an African-American? Or will the latter be called a Caucacian provided he had all the other features of the so-called 'Caucacian' race except for the skin colour. You know very well that the answer for both the questions is no. So basically, there is no basis of race. Infact, few people know that it is impossible to define a person's race genotypically i.e., to say that so-and-so genes are characteristic of a particular 'race' would be false.

In the light of above arguments, I don't think we can classify any other animal (or human) on the basis of race, excepting if u want to separate the black and the white labrador dogs of yours and classify them as African and Caucacian respectively :) .

Interesting. Biologicly speaking all organisms fit into Kingdom:Phylum: Class: Order: Family: Genus: Species. Race isn't a classification

No, If you are a nimrod then yes, humans could be the only race to be able to classify themselfs as a race. But if you take into account the planetary organism's like rodents then there is more than one race of things on this planet that we love so much. Because we clasify many diff. things than people and such like it

We're the only species on the planet that classifies anything.

I suppose that dividing up dogs or cats into breeds is the same thing as dividing humans up by race. They're still the same genus and species, they just have another sub-classification.

I don't know of any other organisms on the planet with the mental capability to classify anything, let alone themselves into a category. Your question is idiotic.

Technically we are one race. Ethnicity is what you are talking about. People say race, but scientifically that isn't what it is.
