During my travels across the U.S., I noticed that they have Carl's Jr. in the western states and Hardee's in the eastern states. Same logo, same menu. Anybody know what the story on that is?

Carl's Jr is in the Pacific region and Hardee's is in the Midwest, Southeast, and East Coast region. I think they're related to the Green Burrito too. I heard Carl's Jr. is going to be in Canada soon as well.

It's Hardees in texas too. Although Montana has their own Hardees chain which is completely unrelated. Not sue what the deal is. Likely one company had a strong footing in a certain area, and the other bought it rather than trying to compete with it.

They have the same owners. If I recall, Hardess was not always the same, but I believe they were purchased, and that's why you now notice similarities. Also, for the record, we have neither in New England. Also, the menus vary, and I think Carl's Jr. is WAY better.

Hardee's was acquired by another company. It's just like Rally's and Checkers.

They're owned by the same companies. You'll find some called Roy Rogers in places as well, same menu.

There are a lot of chains that do that. Rally's here is Checkers somewhere else.
