Why don't people seek retirement in the spirit not only in the body?

We were in spirit before we were born in spirit with a body an we will go back in spirit when we die( in body die we must)

People don't seek retirement in spirit because it's the easiest thing not to do. We are programmed, all of our lives, that materials things will enrich our lives, money will enrich how others perceive us and beauty products, plastic surgery will enrich our bodies....thus enriching our lives. We then lose the main focus of our lives, our spirit (our soul)....being brainwash by the media, big corporations, books, music, etc. We feed into this material world, not realizing some of the most important things in our lives are priceless. So by the time we reach old age, we still are in the "rat race" instead of finding peace of mind, peace of spirit. We find it easier to continue doing what we have been doing all our lives instead of seeking internal peace within ourselves.

Interesting Q, and hopefully one not narrowly directed in a religious sense.

I'm at retirement age, and physically WE do slow somewhat, by situation, circumstance, and degenerational issues, but as long as the MIND remains viable, so can our SPIRIT, and never truly "retires"

Your reference to death seems to lean toward religious teachings,,,no offense,,, but I submit it's "learned" behavior and attitudes, in a belief system. I won't/can't know what is,,,,after death,,, nor do I believe anyone here has that ability. WE believe, or want to believe because it's a "comfort zone" to create something more in a LIFE, than just dwelling on an after life, or the possibility of it.

people consider the spirit to be immortal.unlike the body wich is.therefor in order to live a long life one must relax the body because it is limited,but the spirit can never rest because it is beyond immortality.
