Yes, there are pci adapters out there that will allow you to plug in a laptop pcmcia card for desktop use.

Some people on Yahoo Answers are not the brightest star in the sky, so wade thru the crap as best as you can.

I am assuming you mean a PC card. They do make make adaptors for those. Any electronic store would have them. But the price of the adaptor is going to run you as much as a wireless card designed for the desktop would. You would be better to just buy the desktop (or USB) wireless then to buy the adaptor. Just adds one more thing that can break to the PC.

You mean a pcmcia adapter for the desktoop.

Most computer stores stock them, or will order one for you.

AND, there are also USB wifi thumb sized devices...

AND, for the macs, now, there is an Aeropad wua800 USB wifi pad... some sites have it for $77, but, am sure the price will drop...

well if your laptop is new it should have a wireless
card in it will be at the side of the pc and a ethernet card,
routers and adapters and wireless network card

get a wireless router. any computer or technical shop. prices start around 50
