Mascara should only be kept for 3 months because of the bacteria that can grow inside the tube. I'm not sure about the brands but I've used some expensive ones as well as some cheap ones and the all seem to start to clump and not spread as easily after 3 to 4 months of usage.

If you have been using the same mascara for over 3 months you could be putting yourself at risk of an eye infection, bacteria can grow inside your mascara tube, you will notice no change in the color of your mascara or appearance, even when bacteria is present, always throw old mascara they are not worth the risk, keep those eyes gorgeous by following the 3 month rule.
I recently read in a beauty magazine that you're really not supposed to use the same bottle of mascara for both eyes. It also prevents spread of bacteria.

I think 2 or 3 months maximum. Mascara can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Don't ever share it, or pump the wand in the barrel as germs can be pushed into the barrel. I am not sure if any certain brand stays fresher. I would say no but don't quote me on that.

You should change your mascara every three months, as each time you apply you take dust off your eyelashes and put it in the bottle yuk!
Mascara however does have a shelf life of about 12 months so why don't you just invest in some disposable wands don't double dip though or they are pointless!

Hi There!
Mascara, lip gloss, lipstick should not be kept any more than 6-8 months max. Every time you open the product you allow air to go in. There are no preservative in these products so they cannot sustain too much exposure.

3-6 months, because every time you open the tube air gets caught int he bristles and can lead to build up pf bacteria and it will dry out your mascara. I buy 2 or 3 at the same time just in case I forget. Good luck!

properly in case you verify on the area, backside, actual (everywhere) look for a around looking image which might have an excellent determination on actual then something that sounds like a lid over that. That shows how many months you need to shop the mascara whilst first opened. wish i ought to help ! x

Not to long because bad mascara can cause eye damage. it also depends on the type. Water-proof gets thicker more quickly then regular mascara. I would say if you wear it daily every 6 weeks.

6months inless you have an eye infection or a bad irritation then you should throw away all your eye makeup so it doesn't re-occur. Sure some keep longer than others but you shouldn't keep them until they start to get that way anyways, it's a bit of a health issue. But if you feel safe to keep it until it's dead...go for it, or if it takes you 7months to use all of it and no0 one ever remembers exactly when they bought it, you should be okay. :)
