I have been diagnosed with PCOS. I'm seeing a great specialist, but I want to do some more research on my condition and see if there is anything I can to improve my chances of conceiving and make myself healthier. Do you know of any good sources?

I am on http://www.babyzone.com/ a lot. There is a PCOS support board there, I believe, and the women there are very knowledgeable and always willing to talk about their problems. If you have trouble navigating thru the site, just shoot me an e-mail from my profile here in Answers, and I'll try to walk you through it. If nothing else, you'll be around other women going through exactly what you are - and you'll have your own message board to talk about it, and you won't have any creeps leaving weird messages (like we find so often in Answers LOL!)

Best of luck :)

I have PCOS and have conceived a child with the aid of IVF several of my friends have been successful with Clomid (didnt work for me) Ask your specialist about getting a glucose tolerance test (GTT) but at the same time ask for a test for insulin resistance (your insulin levels are high but sugar levels are normal - this is common with PCOS - if you do have insulin resistance ask about going onto Metformin - it has been proven that it will lower the miscarriage rate with PCOS from 49% down to 5% I was taking this when I fell pregnant - some Drs strongly advise using it others dont like to use it when you are TTC but to be honest its helped most of the people I know. Im in Australia so most of the sites I know may not be useful to you but the website for the PCOS association in Astralia is POSAA found here http://www.posaa.asn.au/ A good site for info on clomid is http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/clomid.htm I got heaps of info and support from this site (I bewlieve its a US site) There are also heaps of yahoo group email lists on PCOS these are where I met most of my friends with PCOS there is actually quite a lot of places on the net you can look up. Good luck with your TTC!

I got 2 books off of Amazon on PCOS. One was PCOS and Infertility and one was the PCOS diet book. Try searching for that on amazon.com they were good books and had a lot of information.

Giving birth to a new life is indeed a blessing which almost every woman would wish to have. How to get pregnant naturally https://tr.im/sDAyJ
Enjoying the feeling of motherhood and raising a family would surely be a couple’s dream. Some get it naturally, while for some others things don’t seem to work as they desire. These reasons which stop a women from conceiving can be due to either physical reasons or truly physiological.

A resource I've found valuable is Dr. Randine Lewis' website:

http://www.thefertilesoul.com

She talks specifically about PCOS and infertility as well as general 'fertility diet' guidelines you could follow to increase your chances of conceiving.

IVF (in vitro fertilization) treatment; IUI, ICSI and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. The cost is very low and the medical services are very good in India.

My cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the Forerunners Healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is a known case of PCOS.She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full IVF treatment in India for which she was quoted 8000 pounds in private setup in UK.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the newspapers. I have also read about a Chinese couple who planned surrogacy through the Forerunners Healthcare. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery and infertility treatment like IVF, IUI, and ICSI abroad for low price. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery and treatment can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

An encyclopedia would most likely help immensely.
