If you are asking about yahoo mail then it is not possible as yahoo mail does not provide a facility to alert you when your mail has been received by the recepient.
In the university where I work there is this facility on the mail server.

Yahoo e-mail does not have that ability. It is usually only found in large corporation e-mail systems, where all e-mail stays within the some server(s) so they can track the information. Can not do it with Internet mail.
