Many people learn it just for weddings. Yes, you will get some customers. The trouble with this customers, they learn for a couple of months and then they forget all about it. So you'll have to keep adevrtizing.
Not many homes have enough floor space to learn Foxtrot or Waltz. On one hand, it is convenient. On the other hand, don't limit yourslef to teaching at their homes if at all possible find a studio that will let you use the floor. Usually ballroom studios have some time slots when they can allow individual teacher use the floor for a fee.

That's a great idea! I know that if I ever get married in the future I'd love to learn to ballroom dance, it's also a great thing to do as a couple, and people would feel more comfortable doing it in their own home. Just one problem might be that not everyone who wanted to do it would have enough space in their home for ballroom dancing, just something to think about but apart from that I think it would be really popular! I wish you the best of luck with your adventure, I hope you do well and have fun doing it!

You're onto a winner! As some people have pointed out, not everyone has the space to learn at home, but still want the privacy, so you could think about that.
In the future, when you are doing really well at this, you could think of some other targets ... my elder borther really surprised me a few months ago; he is in-between jobs, separated from his wife and going through a mid-life crisis. He said he really wanted to study ballroom dancing at this time in his life, but was too shy to go classes alone. He asked me to partner him, but we live too far apart and I am really busy with my own mid-life projects!
I think you need to know there are many people out there who want to learn how to dance, but in private.
Good for you!

Absolutely. I think that fist dance, where everyone watches the new couple on the dance floor, is so emotional...it is a great moment. I am not sure about lessons in the home. I would think you would need more room. I guess it depends on the home. You can always see about renting a hall or community center for one night a week and have a class there.

It is not just a yes or no question. Where do you live? If its a majr mmetroplitan definately. If its a small town with one stop light probably not. You have to look and see if there are enough people in the area. Check out your paper to see how many couples are listed. call the paper and ask advertising if they are flooded with wedding anouncements or they trickle in. Also, you must formulate a business plan regarding advertising, pricing, expenses, location, etc. Look on the internet for similar services and what they charge. call as a prospective buyer and get their info. use it to build your plan. do that with 4 or 5 companies. I did that when starting a auto detailing business.

I take instructions at an Arthur Murray studio, and we get a good number of couples in who desire their first dance on the marriage to look particular. tremendously people who're having the full shebang videotaped. you do no longer want a cha-cha, nevertheless, you like some thing gentle and romantic, like a waltz or a foxtrot. %. a sluggish romantic track which you like. If there's a good a million-2-3 beat in it, your guy of Honor can in all risk coach you some superb waltz strikes; a track with a a million-2-3-4 beat would extra healthy right into a foxtrot. in some unspecified time contained sooner or later, you would be able to desire to purpose the dance with a dress as very comparable on your wedding ceremony dress as achieveable; strikes that artwork properly on your "everyday" clothing would possibly no longer artwork with a dress with an honest sheath or a huge bustle.

I WOULD love to learn how to ballroom dance. And, at home makes me less self conscious. But, I don't have the space for it. Maybe you could offer an alternative for people like me who just don't have the space for this. But, still maintaining the privacy.
