uthockey3...>>>>> he dumb a-s-s have you been hearing Bettman the past 15 years, have you been seeing that he is trying to sell hockey in the U.S. yes. i didnt say all americans don't know hockey but its only a very samll number that does, and i was just asking this Q: because i think most american fans like this kind of thing, like you look at T. Owens last week FOX T.V was all over him in the game, they had the camera on him even when the ball wasnt thrown to him, i know hockey you don't hear about this crap on the news but in other professional sports its on the news every day and i think thats what gets the fans at the game in the U.S. Hockey is the greatest sport ever in all of professional sports and we don't need that ****, but if it will help out in the U.S to bring more fans then thats why i was just wodering what other people thought thats all.

HF read the question right and youll understand what i asked. i said if you look at baseball, basketball and american football the media is all over the so called bad guy images, and it drives them the fans wild and i was saying if we the NHL had players like they do that are all over the news for bad behavier in the public would it help the NHL sell in the U.S. american fans love that kind of stuff and i think thats why all other american sports are more appriciated which i think is wrong cause hockey is by far more exiting and intertening then any other sport their is in the world.

I agree with Turd Ferguson but I don't think the players would allow it. I have a feeling he might get a couple of extra hits every night.

HELL NO. Ray Lewis and Terrell Owens demand the media's attention, but they aren't what drives people to go to the games. The Eagles always sell out, so its not even like TO got more people into the stadium when he returned last week.

Hockey is where it is because of a number of reasons - mainly starting with kids. If you want to have a pick up game of football - all you need is a ball and some rectangular area. Baseball? A wiffle ball and bat? Basketball? A ball and one of the hoops in your town? Hockey? To play hockey, each guy on your team needs a stick, and you need at least one puck and one "goal". And that's at bare minimum.

Other sports get kids into the game early because it just costs less. In Canada and the northern states, its a little more accessible because there is more tradition. "My grandfather taught my father, and my father's teaching me." But if you don't grow up in that framework, its tough to get into hockey.

Of course, once you're in, you're hooked for life. Because c'mon - hockey rules.

No. And I think there are plenty of US fans. Have you looked at the league at all or do you just assume that since we are American we do not like the game? Is it not the most popular in the US but there is a huge fan base here. No we do not need idiots who cant stay out of trouble to make the sport. The problem is that in the US everyone can play baseball, basketball on any corner at almost at any time.

NO, Even though the NHL PR department is inept one thing you always do get the reporters to say is that they are a great bunch of guys and the best interviews. We have had are share of Tyson Nash's , we do not need anymore. I like the way the game is going right now, and am enjoying watching even the out of time games on the dish.

Ya know what... I kind of like it with less people.

Any dolt can be a casual basketball or baseball fan. Fans of hockey should be true fans of the sport.

The bus in my opinion is full enough, they can take the train.

no! that would just give the NHL a bad name and stuff. i hate watching football and basketball, etc anymore cause its all bulls***. you hear the same damn thing over and over again about whos using or drinking, tryin to commit suicide and denyin it, or who got thrown in jail. the news just harps on it too much. i say that if you wanna do stupid s*** and get caught then you shouldnt be allowed to play sports cause sports require you to think and if you can use your head for a simple thing then how the hell are you gonna be able to use your head for sports plays and such?

the nhl is doing fine WITHOUT that stupid bulls***. it needs to stay that way.

no, I don't think it would work. They would love the criminal athletes in basketball & football, but just criticize how bad the hockey players are.
