I posted a question last night about giving a baby juice cold or room temp. I should have been more specific. I bought the Gerber baby juice. So it's not like adult juice. If you give this baby juice to your baby do you add water to it??
Thanks for all the answers last night, and thanks in advance for today's answers. :-)

Yes you dilute when you first introduce it to the baby........
then you can give them as is as they reach 9-10 months old....

Your baby does not require any supplemental fluids such as water or juice! Once your baby has turned 6-8 months old, with your pediatrician's consult, you may then begin to offer very small amounts of water. If you think your baby is "thirsty" and would like a drink, try water!

If you decide to offer fruit juice as a "drink" try waiting until baby is at least 8 months old! **Offering juice as a constipation remedy is acceptable as young as 4 months old with the consult of your pediatrician**

Giving your baby water as a first "beverage" instead of juice will be healthier in the long run!

Always dilute any juice that is offered to babies and toddlers. We recommend diluting 75% water to 25% juice. Keep diluting for as long as possible!

Juice should never ever be offered in a baby bottle! Juice in a bottle is a major cause of dental problems. Also, never allow your baby or toddler to drink from a sippy cup of juice throughout the day!

1st~you didn't say how old the baby is, typically juice shouldn't be given to babies before they are 6 months old. If you decide that you want to do that anyway then the juice should be be watered down, since it is really made for babies 6 months or older. As far as temp, room temp should be fine.

If you're child is 6 months or older than no more than 4-6 oz. of juice should be given a day to start them off with. Juice is not really a neccessity to children. But if you give your child juice~MAKE SURE IT'S 100% JUICE and that doesn't need to be watered down. Anything else is not good for your child

Good Luck!!!

Depends on the age of your baby, usually I start babies on juice on a 1:4 ratio one part juice 3 parts water, then as baby gets used to the juice just start adding less and less water until full juice by 9 months.I do this cause sometimes the juice will give baby loose stools and/or a tummyache, also full juice kinda strong for the younger ones.

I would have to ask you how old your baby is and whether or not you are breastfeeding.
If your baby is still an infant and you are breastfeeding then he/she does not need any other liquid. Anything that you feed her at this point will reduce the amount of milk you produce and just replace a superior food with an inferior one.
That said, if your baby is older, yes I would dilute the juice at first. As your baby gets a bit older it is no longer necessary to dilute the juice.
Good Luck

It already comes water dwoned, that is why it is for babies but sometimes to make the juice last a little longer and make it not as sweet I do water it down. Serve room temp they are not used tho things being cold

Don't add water to it. It's already been filtered so that it will be less acidic than adult juice, making it easier on more sensitive stomachs. And yes, serve it to the baby at room temp unless it's already been opened, then it has to be refrigerated.

I use to give my 5 month old juice (Purity juice) but when I went to the paedatrician for a check up he said that it isn't a very good idea to give babies juice as it has sugar in it and they do not need it. If your baby is thirsty during feeds give him/her water or rooibos tea. My baby is almost 7 months old and she loves her tea and water. If you want to continue to give your baby juice, you needn't dilute(although I did) and your baby can decide whether he/she enjoys it warm or cool.

Room tempature is fine! In fact you dont need to even warm formula or cereal as so many people do. Room tempature is fine for all. If you open it however and dont use all of it then refriderate it afterwards. And yes you do need to dilute it with some water.

Good luck
