I think the question should be why are England poor full stop.
Yeah fair enough they thrash the likes of Andorra but as soon as a team with the slightest bit of organisation and ability come along England just go down the pan.

The individual player are really good e.g gerrard, lampard, rooney, terry, a.cole, ferdinand,j.cole, g.neville, owen, carragher etc. but for some reason they dont work well as a team which is disapointing really!!!!!!! If you are basing it on the wednesday match against Croatia they did have more possesion and had some neat tackles and passes but didnt have a goog result which is all that matters, basically it was 1-0 cos the other one was an own goal, if steven Gerrard played it might of been atleast 2-1, hes a top player!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a theory on that, though you might not like it, and please understand, I'm an England supporter.
I think that England just isn't as talented as some of the other teams. They are good, they play hard, and good for them. They are rarely knocked out of the world/euro cup by bad teams. They dig in, defend hard, work hard, and honestly, they don't underperform. They go as far as they can, and eventually fall to a better team who is playing well.

that's a easy question its because England are a poor team .stop listening to all the hype and actually watch your team they are only average if even that. they are defiantly not world cup winners like all the press and TV commentators would have you all think

The reason we play poor is because we have a bloke in charge who did Sweet Fa at Boro ,and was a whipping boy at Man Utd .

Because they are team of individual players who dont understand the concept of team work. They all think they are the only ones that deserve to be in the team. They all want the 'fame' and 'the money', but dont seem prepared to earn it!!

i think, we think, that we are a talented nation at football..and we belive the press to much..in fact we are a sub standard football nation with no techical ability at all..we sould do what we do best..play at 100 mile an hour and give 100'% effort and get stuck in. and play for the nation and not our pay packets
and that go's for all the team and managers and staff
