If you are having a normal pregnancy you are always going to be gaining weight during your pregnancy because the baby is always growing and fluid is being produced. Weight gain is very different for every woman due to their size before pregnancy and how their body is dealing with the pregnancy.

as long as your weight is normal to start with, the recommended amount to gain is 25-30 lbs. but even going a few lbs over will not harm you. being underweight could harm the baby though. as for my pregnancy, i didn't really even start gaining until the 5th month. i have had two weight gain spurts of 3 to 4 lbs which is going to happen as the baby will have growth spurts as well
