Nobody with an ounce of brains EVER said man evolved FROM monkeys! Men and apes co-evolved from a common ancestor, which was niether ape nor human. Given the mentality of the current occupant of the White House, one has some cause to doubt the veracity of the idea of the evolution of the human brain...at least the Republican brain!

the man didn't evolve from the monkey. both monkeys and men evolved from a common ancestral. the ancestral species doesn't exist anymore, and monkeys and men do because they don't compete for resources directly, they occupy different niches.
now monkeys are endangered because man has started to compete with them for an important resource: space. to build cities, the natural habitats of monkeys and wildlife in general has been destroyed.
