Not meant to scare anybody, just pooling ideas on how would you respond if you learn someone you are loving, is nothing but a possessive monster.

I would probably end up hurt really bad. I fight back! I have never been in a relationship with someone abusive, but I have been caught in the middle between a very domineering husband and submissive wife once. The wife believed that if she left him, he would carry out his threat, and hunt her down and kill her. And he was just crazy enough to probably of pulled it off. The quality of life for the wife was that of a POW. We never knew hour to hour what mood he would be in. She was never allowed to have friends over, and family stayed away, to keep matters from getting more complicated. On the outside and away from home, the wife was one great actress! This went on for 40 years. Life held very few pleasures. It took him dying to finally free her from this abuse. But it left mental, physical, and a life time of darkness, haunting her even after she was freed. It also marked their children for life, which caused emotional and mental problems within them. I was one of 4 of their offsprings. My Dad has been dead for 20 years, and to this day, we all still have night mares based on our life. One of my sisters and my brother was so mentally effected that attempted suicide to try and find a place of peace. My brother finally pulled if off, 5 years ago. There are lots of people involved in the harm, hurt, and trapped like we were. My way of dealing, is finding some humor amongst the debris of my life. The set "feeling" that your conditioned with in a stitution such as this never seems to leave you. Its a constant reminder of painful memories, no matter what you do, or how far you run to move away from it. Its branded mentally into who you are. I even blame my Mother for putting up with my Dad and making the rest of our life's a living he!!. I have never felt safe. I continue to live with fear. But I don't tell this for anyone to feel sorry for me. I am moving ahead and making good memories, to fall back on. Save your pity for the ones, like my brother that never had a chance to make his own good memories. Death is to high a price to pay, for anything!!!
