Michael's is a great crafts store. I live in Chicago and there's one not too far away in Skokie. It's a huge store with just about everything. I'm sure you can find what you're looking for there. Just as long as there's one in your area of course.

:-)

I made a Christmas sweatshirt one year that turned out very well. Purchase a bunch of silk poinsettias ( you can use the traditional red or try pink or gold for variety ) and pull the flowers off the wire stems. Place the flowers face down on a piece of parchment paper, lay a sheet of fuse able webbing over the flowers and cover with a piece of brown paper or paper bag and iron until you find the webbing has adhered to the flowers. Once the flowers are prepared, arrange them in a heart shaped wreath pattern on the front of the shirt and iron them in place. You can outline the flowers with dimensional paint or glitter fabric glue. For floral centers,I sewed a few gold seed beads but they too can be glued in place.

I use coloring books and make the patterns from those. Hobby Lobby is a great store besides the other listed. I also use crochet dollies and fabric with the design on them and let your imagination run wild. Connect to those creative juices, also I find inspiration by looking at on line outfits and go from there. I also use Wonder Under to attach them with my iron.

You can also create custom appliques by using a fusible webbing. You simply need an Iron to apply.
